Short Bio

Maya Lynn is a violinist dedicated to the exploration of cross-disciplinary studies, and works to build programs exploring the relationship between music and literature. She holds a dual degree in Violin Performance (BM) and English (BA) from Boston University and is currently pursuing a Masters of Music in Violin performance from Boston University. Under the tutelage of Yuri Mazurkevich, and Dr. Minju Kim, Maya brings her background and expertise in English Literature to the concert hall stage. Maya has performed over 5 lecture style recitals, creating links between music, art, and literature. Maya worked in collaboration with Northern Stage to create a soundscape based on her analysis of the text and her knowledge of solo violin repertoire, for the land of the fairies in their production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. She also served as the featured soloist in this production, where her performance was credited by the Herald as being “a treat of the evening … which knit together different scenes in the production”. Maya has performed with orchestras in major concert halls in the United States and Europe. She has studied with renowned teachers such as Yuri Mazurkevich, Dr. Minju Kim, Moni Simeonov, Bayla Keyes, Lucia Lin, Kathy Andrew, and Peter Rovit.When not performing or practicing, Maya enjoys reading, baking and knitting, spending time with her family, and watching the Great British Bake-off with a mug of hot tea.
